Short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcer; active benign gastric ulcer; GERD. Maintenance therapy for duodenal ulcer patients at reduced dosage after healing of an active ulcer. Treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions (eg, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, multiple endocrine adenomas).
AdultActive duodenal & active benign gastric ulcer 40 mg daily at bedtime for 4-8 wk. Maintenance therapy for duodenal ulcer 20 mg once daily at bedtime. GERD Initially 20-40 mg bd for 6-12 wk. Pathological hypersecretory conditions Initially 20 mg every 6 hr. Severe Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome Up to 160 mg every 6 hr.
